Scrutiny:
Li, 2002, NOTE: Li Fasheng, 2002a Li Fasheng (2002a) does not assign his species to the genera newly defined by Mockford within Caeciliusidae (see Mockford (2000, 2001)). He explicitly considers Valenzuela Navas (sensu Mockford (2000)) as a synonym of Caecilius Curtis (cf. p. 305) and uses the genus Caecilius in a large sense. It will be the task of future revisers to assign Li's species to Mockford's genera or to define new genera for them. The species mentioned by Li Fasheng (2002a) in Caecilius which are assigned to other genera in the World Catalogue (Lienhard & Smithers (2002)) are here listed according to the World Catalogue mentioning in parentheses the name used by Li Fasheng (2002a).
Type species:
Caecilius fenestratus
Curtis, J. (=
fuscopterus
), by original designation
The first family-group name based on this genus is Caeciliusidae Mockford, 2000.
